变译理论视域下《你好，李焕英》字幕英译研究

A Study on the English Subtitle Translation of “Hi, Mom” from the Perspective of Variational Translation Theory

摘要: 本研究以变译理论为框架，聚焦电影《你好，李焕英》的字幕英译实践，深入剖析译者如何运用“增、减、编、改”等变译策略，有效消解字幕翻译过程中的语言矛盾、文化矛盾及观众需求矛盾。通过具体案例分析，验证变译理论在处理中文特有表达及适配英语观众认知习惯方面的适用性。研究发现，变译策略通过灵活变通，在保留原作核心情感与文化内核的前提下，能够显著提升跨文化传播效果，为家庭情感类影片的海外传播提供理论参考与实践路径。

Abstract: This study adopts Variational Translation Theory as its framework, focusing on the English subtitle translation of the film Hi, Mom. It conducts an in-depth analysis of how translators apply strategies such as addition, deletion, editing, and adaptation to effectively resolve linguistic, cultural, and audience-demand contradictions in subtitle translation. Through specific case studies, the study verifies the applicability of Variational Translation Theory in handling Chinese-specific expressions and adapting to the cognitive habits of English-speaking audiences. The findings reveal that the flexible use of these strategies can significantly enhance cross-cultural communication while preserving the core emotions and cultural essence of the original work, providing theoretical references and practical paths for the overseas dissemination of family-themed emotional films.
