Abstract: The university years represent an important stage of life development, during which individuals face the developmental task of constructing meaning in life. Perceived social support and self-esteem are considered important external and internal psychological resources associated with meaning in life, respectively. This study aimed to examine the relationship between perceived social support and meaning in life among university students, with a particular focus on the mediating role of self-esteem. A total of 353 university students completed an online survey using the Perceived Social Support Scale, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and the Meaning in Life Questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0. The results showed that: (1) perceived social support was positively correlated with meaning in life; and (2) self-esteem partially mediated the relationship between perceived social support and meaning in life.
