Individuation and the Extension of Innate Moral Knowledge: A Dialogue between Jung’s View of the Self and Wang Yangming’s Philosophy of Mind

摘要: 荣格心理学中的自性化思想引导人们认识自身主体性,整合内心,实现自性的觉醒与回归。王阳明心学中的“致良知”倡导人们重视内心意向,以心之本体度察事物,格物而致知,博览而正心。两者都揭示了人内心的客观精神和认知创造力量,并以自我本心的回归与升华为最终归宿。然而,本研究发现二者在根基形式上同一、在质料与路径上分殊、在回归指向上同构而落脚点各异。借助存在论,现象论,目的论的三层模型分析可使二者的比较从概念罗列走向因果解释,进一步呈现心理整合与伦理实践两个维度的张力。
Abstract: The concept of individuation in Jungian psychology guides individuals to recognize their subjectivity, integrate the inner world, and achieve the awakening and return of the self. The “extension of innate moral knowledge” in Wang Yangming’s philosophy of mind advocates that individuals attend to their inner intentions, examine things through the original substance of the mind, investigate things to extend knowledge, and cultivate their learning to rectify the mind. Both perspectives reveal the objective spirit and cognitive creativity inherent in the human mind, with the return and transcendence of the original self as the ultimate destination. However, this study finds that while the two approaches share the same foundational form, they differ in their material content and practical pathways. Although they converge in the structure of their ultimate direction, their concrete endpoints diverge. By employing a three-level analytical model consisting of ontology, phenomenology, and teleology, the comparison between the two approaches moves from a mere listing of conceptual similarities and differences toward a causal explanation, further revealing the tension between the two dimensions of psychological integration and ethical practice.
