新外研版初中英语教材插图文化内容及其文化意识培养

Illustration Cultural Content and Cultural Awareness Cultivation in the New FLTRP Junior High School English Textbook

摘要: 教材插图兼具整合与建构功能，是落实文化传播与学科育人的可视化载体。文章运用文本分析的方法，对新外研版初中英语教材插图中所涉及的文化内容进行分析，发现新教材中插图的文化导向特征显著，中国文化类与文化观念类插图占比最大，但文化社群类内容较少，并且插图多以显性方式呈现文化。文章最后提出了相应的实施路径，以帮助初中英语教师更好地提高插图资源利用。

Abstract: Textbook illustrations serve both integrative and constructive functions, acting as visual carriers for cultural dissemination and subject-based education. Using the method of text analysis, this paper examines the cultural content presented in the illustrations of the New Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (new FLTRP) junior high school English textbook. The findings reveal that the illustrations in the new textbook exhibit a notable cultural orientation. Illustrations related to Chinese culture and cultural concepts account for the largest proportion, while those depicting cultural communities are relatively scarce. Furthermore, the cultural content is predominantly presented in an explicit manner. The paper concludes by proposing corresponding implementation strategies to help junior high school English teachers make better use of illustration resources.
