Abstract: Systemic therapies, including chemotherapy combined with targeted therapy and immunotherapy, are commonly used for advanced metastatic cervical cancer or recurrent cervical cancer with distant metastasis. With advances in medical oncology, various novel therapeutic strategies have emerged for the treatment of advanced and recurrent cervical cancer, including newly developed chemotherapeutic agents such as topotecan and albumin-bound paclitaxel; anti-angiogenic agents such as apatinib and pazopanib; epidermal growth factor receptor-targeted agents such as nimotuzumab and gefitinib; and immune checkpoint inhibitors such as atezolizumab, sintilimab, and nivolumab. This review aims to summarize the recent advances in the application of these therapeutic approaches and agents in advanced or recurrent cervical cancer.
