英汉礼貌现象比较研究

A Comparative Study of Politeness in English and Chinese

摘要: 本文从语用学视角出发，整合利奇的礼貌原则、布朗与莱文森的面子理论、斯宾塞–奥蒂的关系管理模型以及称呼语研究，对英汉两种语言中的礼貌现象进行了比较。通过对真实语料进行定性分析，本研究识别出普遍模式和文化特定实现方式。研究发现：英语礼貌侧重于消极面子和个人自主，而汉语礼貌则优先考虑积极面子、群体认同和社会等级。主要差异体现在称呼语、回应恭维、请求策略和面子威胁管理方面。本文讨论了这些差异对跨文化交际和二语语用能力培养的启示。

Abstract: This paper compares politeness phenomena in English and Chinese from a pragmatic perspective, integrating the Politeness Principle (Leech), Face Theory (Brown & Levinson), the Rapport Management Model (Spencer-Oatey), and address-form studies. Through qualitative analysis of authentic linguistic data, the study identifies both universal patterns and culture-specific realizations. Findings show that English politeness emphasizes negative face and individual autonomy, while Chinese politeness prioritizes positive face, group identity and social hierarchy. Major differences emerge in address terms, responses to compliments, request strategies, and face-threat management. The study discusses implications for intercultural communication and L2 pragmatic competence.
