平行语料库驱动下的中国英语二语学习者文化翻译能力研究

A Study on the Development of Cultural Translation Competence among Chinese L2 English Learners Driven by Parallel Corpus

摘要: 本研究旨在探究一个自建的“中国文化翻译平行语料库”在数据驱动学习(DDL)模式下，对提升中国英语二语学习者文化翻译能力的效果。研究采用单一组前后测的教学实验设计，对54名大学生进行了干预。通过对翻译得分、翻译技巧觉识和技巧适切度三个维度的量化分析(描述性统计、配对样本t检验、相关性与回归分析)，并辅以问卷和访谈的定性数据，研究得出以下主要结论：1) 平行语料库的介入显著提升了学习者的翻译得分、技巧觉识和技巧适切度；2) 技巧适切度与翻译得分呈显著正相关，并能正向预测翻译得分；3) 技巧觉识与翻译得分无显著相关性，但可能通过提升技巧适切度间接发挥作用。研究认为，平行语料库通过促进学习者从被动知识接收者转变为主动规律发现者，特别是提升了他们在特定语境下选择恰当翻译策略的能力，从而改善了文化类文本的翻译质量。

Abstract: This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of a self-built “Parallel Corpus of Chinese Culture Translation” in enhancing the cultural translation competence of Chinese EFL learners within a Data-Driven Learning (DDL) framework. A one-group pretest-posttest teaching experiment was conducted with 54 university students. Through quantitative analyses of three dimensions—translation scores, translation technique awareness, and technique appropriateness (including descriptive statistics, paired-sample t-tests, correlation and regression analyses)—supplemented by qualitative data from questionnaires and interviews, the study draws the following main conclusions: 1) The intervention of the parallel corpus significantly improved learners’ translation scores, translation technique awareness, and translation technique appropriateness; 2) Technique appropriateness was significantly positively correlated with translation scores and could positively predict translation scores; 3) Technique awareness showed no significant correlation with translation scores but may exert an indirect effect by enhancing technique appropriateness. The study suggests that the parallel corpus facilitates the transformation of learners from passive knowledge recipients into active discoverers of language rules, particularly enhancing their ability to select appropriate translation strategies in specific contexts, thereby improving the quality of culture-related text translation.
