Research Progress on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Intestinal Microbiological Abnormalities
Abstract: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that starts in childhood and is characterized by inattention and hyperactivity impulsivity. In recent years, many scholars have carried out research around the “microbial gut brain axis” to explore the two-way connection between the intestinal microecology and the central nervous system. Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder also often show gastrointestinal dysfunction. Research shows that the core symptoms may be closely related to the intestinal microecology. This paper analyzes the possible mechanism of intestinal flora affecting attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and reviews the characteristics and clinical evidence of intestinal microecology abnormalities in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. This paper can provide a new perspective for understanding the mechanism of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and developing clinical management.
