Abstract: Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of laparoscopic transumbilical single-site high ligation of hernia sac for the treatment of incarcerated indirect inguinal hernia in children and to summarize clinical experience. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 83 children with incarcerated indirect inguinal hernia who underwent laparoscopic transumbilical single-site surgery in the Department of General and Neonatal Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from July 2021 to May 2024. Results: All surgeries were successfully completed, with an average operative time of 31.59 minutes. During hospitalization and postoperative follow-up, the complication rate was only 1.2%, with no severe complications such as intestinal injury or bladder injury. Conclusion: Laparoscopic transumbilical single-site surgery is a safe and feasible method for treating incarcerated indirect inguinal hernia in children, offering the advantages of minimal trauma and aesthetic wound outcomes.
