关联理论视角下的古典诗词英译分析——以许渊冲《无题》译本为例

An Analysis of Translation Strategies for Classical Chinese Poetry from the Perspective of Relevance Theory—A Case Study of Xu Yuanchong’s Translation of To One Unnamed

摘要: 李商隐的《无题》典故丰富、隐喻含蓄，英译难度较高。本文以关联翻译理论为框架，选取许渊冲译本为研究对象，从词汇意象、隐喻语用、韵律句式三个维度分析其翻译策略。研究发现，许渊冲通过保留文化意象、显化隐性情感、重构句式韵律等方式，弥补了中西认知语境差异，以最小的认知努力实现了最佳语境效果，达成原文与目标读者的语境互明。该译本兼顾文化传递、情感还原与诗歌审美，印证了关联理论对古典诗词英译的解释力，为中华古典诗歌翻译提供参考。

Abstract: Rich in allusions and veiled metaphors, Li Shang‑yin’s To One Unnamed present great challenges for English translation. Based on Relevance Theory, this paper takes Xu Yuanchong’s translation as a case study and explores its translation strategies from lexical imagery, metaphorical pragmatics, rhythm and syntax. The results show that Xu bridges Sino‑Western cognitive‑contextual disparities by retaining cultural imagery, explicitizing hidden feelings and remodeling poetic rhythm. He attains optimal contextual effects with minimum cognitive efforts and builds mutual manifestness for target readers. Integrating cultural output, emotional fidelity and poetic beauty, his translation proves how Relevance Theory can interpret classical‑poetry translation and provides implications for translation of ancient Chinese poems.
