Integrating Generative AI into POA-Based College English Reading: An Instructional Case Study

摘要: 本研究以产出导向法(POA)为理论框架，以《新视野英语教程(第四版)读写教程2》“Trends and Fads”为课例载体，探索AI赋能大学英语阅读教学的设计。研究围绕“用英语推介融合中医元素的国潮产品”这一核心产出任务，将课程思政目标与语言教学目标统筹纳入“驱动–促成–评价”三阶段教学流程。课前依托超星学习通平台前置任务，课中依托AI创设情境并设计阶梯输入，课后延展平台深化评价。实践表明，AI与POA的深度融合可激发动机，并有效推动语言能力、文化认知与职业素养的协同提升，为大学英语落实“学用一体”理念提供了课例参照。

Abstract: This study, grounded in the Production-Oriented Approach (POA), outlines a lesson designed of AI-enabled college English reading instruction, using the unit “Trends and Fads” from “New Horizon English Course (4th Edition) Reading and Writing 2” as the case. Centered on the task of presenting a Guochao product infused with traditional Chinese medicine elements, it integrates goals of ideological and political theory courses with language objectives across the three POA stages: motivating, enabling, and assessing. Pre-class tasks use Chaoxing Platform; in-class AI enables scenario construction and graded input; post-class activities extend online assessment. Initial findings show that AI-POA integration sustains learner motivation and promotes coordinated development of linguistic competence, cultural awareness, and professional aptitude, offering a reference for learning-using integration in college English.
