新型基础设施建设对电商企业数字化发展的影响效应与推动机制——基于双重机器学习的因果推断
The Impact and Mechanisms of New Infrastructure Development on the Digital Transformation of E-Commerce Enterprises—Evidence from Causal Inference Using Double Machine Learning
摘要: 新基建作为中国目前重要的战略举措之一,其本质就是智能化与数字化基础设施建设,数字化同时也是作为现在企业发展的重要内生动力,所以数字化将新基建与电商企业数字化发展紧密相连。为探究新型基础设施建设对电商企业数字化发展的影响,本文基于2018~2022年中国省级行政单位层面数据,测算各省级行政单位新基建综合指数,并在此基础上采用双重机器学习模型识别新型基础设施建设对电商企业数字化发展的影响效应及其作用机制。研究发现:新型基础设施建设对电商企业数字化发展具有显著的正向促进作用,这一作用主要体现为数字技术扩散、市场需求牵引和产业融合深化三个方面;从具体传导机制看,新型基础设施建设能够通过提升企业固定资产运营效率和增强企业持续创新能力,进一步推动企业数字化发展。本文不仅拓展了新型基础设施与企业数字化转型研究的分析框架,也为推动产业转型升级与高质量发展提供了经验依据。
Abstract: As one of China’s major strategic initiatives, new infrastructure development primarily entails the construction of intelligent and digital infrastructure. Digitalization has also become an important endogenous driver of enterprise development, thereby closely linking new infrastructure development with the digital transformation of e-commerce enterprises. To examine the impact of new infrastructure development on the digital transformation of e-commerce enterprises, this study uses provincial-level data from China covering the period from 2018 to 2022 to construct a composite index of new infrastructure development for each provincial-level administrative region. Based on this index, a double machine learning model is employed to identify the effects and underlying mechanisms of new infrastructure development on the digital transformation of e-commerce enterprises. The results show that new infrastructure development significantly promotes the digital transformation of e-commerce enterprises, mainly through three channels: the diffusion of digital technologies, the pull of market demand, and deeper industrial integration. Regarding the specific mechanisms, new infrastructure development further advances the digital transformation of e-commerce enterprises by improving the operating efficiency of fixed assets and strengthening enterprises’ sustained innovation capabilities. This study not only extends the analytical framework for research on new infrastructure development and enterprise digital transformation but also provides empirical evidence for promoting industrial transformation and upgrading and high-quality development.
