翻译人才培养的SWOT-PEST分析法的多维透视
A Multidimensional Analysis of Translation Talent Cultivation Based on the SWOT-PEST Framework
摘要: 人工智能正深度介入语言服务行业,国际传播能力建设也已被提到国家战略层面,两股力量叠加,使翻译人才培养面临前所未有的转型压力。本文尝试以SWOT-PEST整合框架来审视这一问题:先借助近五年的行业数据与政策文本,从政治、经济、社会、技术四个维度考察翻译人才培养所处的外部环境,再对照高校翻译教育自身的条件,梳理其优势、劣势以及面临的机会与威胁。分析发现,政策支持力度不断加大,高端人才却始终紧缺;市场规模仍在扩张,但对人才能力的要求已全面升级;社会需求趋于多元,职业形态却日益兼职化;技术既是教学改革的助力,也在挤压传统翻译岗位。在此基础上,文章借助SWOT-PEST矩阵推导出四类应对策略:SO策略主张依托本硕博贯通的体系优势培养高端复合人才,WO策略强调借技术之力改造课程与产教协同机制,ST策略提出以人文价值和高阶能力应对技术替代,WT策略则要求控制规模、调整结构、改革评价,守住质量底线,以期为新形势下翻译人才培养的转型提供参考。
Abstract: Artificial intelligence is reshaping the language service industry, while building China’s capacity for international communication has become a national strategy. Under this dual pressure, the training of translators and interpreters can no longer be reduced to language-skill instruction. This paper examines the issue through an integrated SWOT-PEST framework. Drawing on industry data and policy documents from the past five years, it first reviews the political, economic, social and technological environment of translation education in China, and then weighs the internal strengths and weaknesses of university programs against external opportunities and threats. The analysis shows that stronger policy support coexists with a persistent shortage of high-end translators; that the market keeps growing while its demand shifts toward composite “language + technology + domain” competence; that social demand is diversifying while the profession itself becomes increasingly freelance-based; and that technology both supports teaching reform and squeezes traditional translation jobs. Four groups of strategies are then derived from the SWOT-PEST matrix: building on the complete BTI-MTI-DTI system to train high-end composite talent (SO); using technology and emerging businesses to rebuild curricula and university-industry collaboration (WO); cultivating humanistic values and higher-order abilities that machines cannot replace (ST); and controlling enrollment scale, adjusting program structure and reforming evaluation to safeguard quality (WT). The findings are expected to inform the ongoing transformation of translator education in China.
