The Meaning Construction of Love and Marriage in Pride and Prejudice—A Study Based on the Theory of Textual Objects and Textual Incidents

摘要: 本文以语料库文体学为研究路径，在文本视角的理论框架下，运用文本对象与文本事件的分析方法，对《傲慢与偏见》中爱情与婚姻的意义建构进行系统考察。研究基于语料库工具，对“love”和“marriage”两个核心文本对象在不同语境中的搭配模式进行分析，考察围绕二者形成的典型文本对象组合及文本事件。结果表明，小说通过稳定而有差异的语言组合，将爱情呈现为一个需要时间与理性检验的情感过程，而将婚姻呈现为受到社会规范、情感因素和经济条件共同影响的复杂关系结构。两类意义网络在叙事发展中相互交织，共同推动小说主题意义的建构。本研究表明，从文本内部出发的语料库分析有助于深化对文学主题意义生成机制的理解，也为语料库方法与文学阐释的结合提供了一种可能的分析路径。

Abstract: This study adopts corpus stylistics as the research approach and, within a textual perspective framework, applies the analytical concepts of textual object and textual incident to examine the meaning construction of love and marriage in Pride and Prejudice. Based on corpus tools, the study analyzes the collocational patterns of the two core textual objects, “love” and “marriage”, in different contexts, and examines the typical combinations of textual objects and textual incidents constructed around them. The findings show that the novel presents love as an emotional process requiring time and rational reflection through stable yet differentiated linguistic patterns, while representing marriage as a complex relational structure shaped by social norms, emotional factors, and economic conditions. The two meaning networks are interwoven throughout the narrative development, jointly contributing to the construction of the novel’s thematic meaning. This study demonstrates that corpus-based analysis grounded in textual data can deepen the understanding of the mechanisms underlying thematic meaning construction in literary texts and provide a possible perspective for integrating corpus methods with literary interpretation.
