能源类文本汉英翻译中的概念隐喻探析

摘要: 本文基于概念隐喻理论,以能源领域行业新闻评论为研究对象,探讨其中隐喻表达的汉英翻译问题。文章指出,此类文本虽以客观准确为特点,但也常使用“苍蝇腿形象”、“风口”等隐喻来增强表达效果。由于汉英间的认知与文化差异,直译可能导致理解障碍。因此,文章通过案例分析,初步归纳了四种具体的翻译策略:意象舍弃与喻底显化法、意象保留与概念同构法、意象映射与概念增补法、意象省译与逻辑重构法。同时,文章引入概念整合理论作为辅助分析框架,进一步揭示了隐喻翻译中意义重构的认知机制。研究表明,此类文本的隐喻翻译需立足源域与目标域的概念映射关系,兼顾语义、文化和功能对等,以期为科技文本翻译提供认知策略参考,提升跨文化传播效果。
Abstract: Based on Conceptual Metaphor Theory, this paper takes energy-related industry news commentary as its research object and explores the Chinese-English translation of metaphorical expressions therein. The paper notes that, although such texts are characterized by objectivity and accuracy, they frequently employ metaphors such as “fly-leg image” and “wind outlet” to enhance expressiveness. Due to cognitive and cultural differences between Chinese and English, literal translation may lead to comprehension barriers. Through case analysis, the paper tentatively identifies four specific translation strategies: image abandonment with ground explicitation, image retention with conceptual isomorphism, image mapping with conceptual amplification, and image omission with logical reconstruction. Meanwhile, Conceptual Blending Theory is introduced as a supplementary analytical framework to further reveal the cognitive mechanisms of meaning reconstruction in metaphor translation. The study suggests that metaphor translation in such texts should be grounded in the conceptual mapping relationship between the source and target domains, while balancing equivalence at the semantic, cultural, and functional levels, with a view to providing cognitive strategy references for scientific text translation and enhancing cross-cultural communication efficacy.
