Abstract: Uveitic Macular Edema (UME) refers to the accumulation of intraretinal or subretinal fluid in the macula region secondary to intraocular inflammation, resulting in significant visual impairment. Glucocorticoids, owing to their potent anti-inflammatory activity, remain the cornerstone of UME management. This review summarizes the therapeutic efficacy and complications of glucocorticoids in the management of UME, including various routes of administration-topical, periocular, intravitreal, suprachoroidal and systemic—as well as different glucocorticoid types and formulations. The aim is to provide scientific evidence for clinicians and ultimately achieve an optimal balance between therapeutic efficacy and safety for patient.
