Abstract: Approximately 20%~40% of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exhibit type 2 inflammation characterized by elevated eosinophil counts. Despite receiving triple inhaled maintenance therapy, these patients often suffer from recurrent acute exacerbations and progressive lung function decline. In recent years, biologics targeting specific inflammatory pathways—such as IL-5/IL-5Rα, IL-4Rα, IL-33/ST2, and TSLP—have offered a direction for precision therapy in COPD. This article aims to review the research progress on biologic agents targeting type 2 inflammation in COPD, with the goal of assisting clinicians in achieving more precise and individualized management of the disease.
