Abstract: Objective: To systematically analyze the research status, academic hotspots, and evolutionary trends of the novel intravenous anesthetic ciprofol using bibliometric and visualization methods. Methods: Articles related to ciprofol published from inception to December 31, 2025, were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Excel 2010, GraphPad Prism 10, CiteSpace 6.4.R1, and VOSviewer 1.6.20 were used to analyze publication volume, countries/regions, institutions, journals, authors, keywords, and co-cited references. Results: A total of 205 articles were included. Research on ciprofol began in 2017 and entered a rapid growth phase after 2021. China had the highest number of publications, Sichuan University was the most productive institution, Drug Design, Development and Therapy was the leading journal, and Liu Xiao was the most prolific author. Keyword clustering and citation burst analysis indicated that research hotspots have shifted from early pharmacological evaluation to multidrug combination, application in different surgical types, and refined use in special populations. Conclusion: Ciprofol research is in a phase of rapid development, with Chinese research forces playing a dominant role but international collaboration being insufficient. Future research should focus on dose optimization for specific surgical procedures and special populations, individualized multidrug combination strategies, and protective effects on long-term patient outcomes.
