Discussion on the Method of Locating the Guan Position Based on the Prominent Bone behind the Palm

摘要: 文章通过分析当下教学、通行教材、早期文献以及部分古代各家和现代医家脉诊(独取寸口法)实践中关于定关分部方法的论述，结合解剖实际与表面解剖实验，阐明了各类“掌后高骨”的含义以及诸种定关法的实践特点与缺陷，梳理了几种掌后高骨的具体定位，并提出了通过掌后高骨定关分部的确切方法，从而为脉诊教学和医疗实践的准确化与标准化奠定基础。

Abstract: This paper analyzes and discusses the methods of locating and dividing the Guan position in pulse diagnosis (the method of exclusively palpating the Cunkou) as presented in current teaching practices, widely used textbooks, early literature, and the clinical practices of various ancient and modern physicians. By integrating anatomical evidence with surface anatomy experiments, the study elucidates the specific meanings of the “prominent bone behind the palm” across different contexts, as well as the practical characteristics and limitations of various Guan-positioning methods. Several specific anatomical landmarks of the prominent bone behind the palm are systematically identified, and a precise method for locating and dividing the pulse positions based on these anatomical landmarks is proposed, thereby laying a foundation for the accuracy and standardization of pulse diagnosis in both teaching and clinical practice.
