Abstract: Elite athletes face the multiple challenges of heavy training loads, competitive pressure, and insufficient recovery, with the high prevalence of sleep disorders and anxiety-depressive symptoms having become critical factors constraining athletic performance and career sustainability. In response to these practical challenges, this study focuses on elite athletes as a distinctive occupational group, seeking to break through the conventional barriers of traditional recovery and psychological support models. It proposes the Athlete Health Floating Digital-Mind Fusion Intervention Model (AHFDMFIM), which employs Floatation-REST as a physiological recovery vehicle, integrates imagined contact psychological techniques to repair competitive interpersonal relationships and internal conflicts, leverages wearable devices and artificial intelligence for multimodal sleep-recovery dynamic assessment, and innovatively introduces the Five-Element Personality Theory as an indigenized assessment tool for athletes’ psychological traits, thereby constructing a “physiological-psychological-cultural-digital” four-dimensional intervention paradigm tailored to competitive sports contexts. The study systematically reviews the evidence-based foundations of floatation therapy in athlete recovery and sleep improvement, analyzes the translational application pathways of imagined contact techniques in competitive psychological training, explores the technological advances in AI-driven wearable monitoring for athlete recovery management, and reconfigures the Five-Element Personality framework as an indigenized tool adapted for assessing athletes’ psychological characteristics. On this basis, it proposes a closed-loop “assessment-intervention-feedback” process and context-adaptive implementation protocols for competitive settings, providing a theoretical framework and practical guidelines for the integrated intervention of sleep disorders and psychological distress in athletes. The study contends that the core value of the AFMDIM lies in its responsiveness to the cutting-edge concept in competitive sports that “recovery is training,” offering a systematic solution that combines scientific rigor and cultural adaptability for transitioning athletes from passive recovery to proactive restoration, and carrying significant theoretical innovation value and practical dissemination significance for enriching the intervention toolkit of sport psychology and guiding the delivery of psychological technology services to frontline sports teams.
