Subjective Evaluation and Intermediate State: A Study on the Construction “X Bu X, Y Bu Y”

摘要: “X不X，Y不Y”是现代汉语中典型的并列否定评价构式。本文以真实语料为基础，系统考察该构式的构件组成及其关系、语用功能与构式义。该构式依托双重否定并列的特殊句法结构实现专属构式功能，形成区别于字面组合的整体意义。

Abstract: The pattern “X bu X, Y bu Y” is a typical coordinate negative evaluative construction in Modern Chinese. On the basis of authentic corpus data, this paper systematically investigates the constituent components of the construction, their internal relations, pragmatic functions and constructional meaning. Relying on the special syntactic structure of juxtaposed double negation, the construction fulfills its unique constructional functions and generates a holistic meaning distinct from the literal combination of its components.
