Regional Economic Integration and Tariff Policy
Abstract: Using an oligopoly model, this paper analyses the tariff policy before and after economic integration, showing that economic integration necessarily reduces the non-member country’s welfare. In addition, the region still gains from integration even though the trade liberalization within the region is partial.
