Abstract: The WNT/β-catenin pathway is a set of evolutionarily conserved signals which play a vital role during embryonic development and regeneration of varied species. This paper reviews the recent understanding of the role of WNT/β-catenin pathway in various vertebrates’ injured organs. The WNT/β-catenin pathway is essential in the regeneration of retina and lateral line in zebrafish, limb regeneration in amphibian and regeneration of retina, growth plate cartilage and prostate in rat.
