OF介词短语在商务英语中的翻译策略

Translation Strategies of OF Prepositional Phrases in Business English

摘要: 本文以韩礼德的系统功能语法为指导，基于自建的商务英语双语语料库，结合句法功能，研究高频短语OF介词短语的英汉翻译策略。研究结果表明，在商务英语中，OF介词短语具有不同的句法功能，其中最为主要的功能是作后置定语；而针对不同句法功能的OF介词短语，译者在翻译时应采取不同的翻译策略，如直译法、省译法、转化词类法和固定译法，旨在提高商务文本的翻译质量和水平。

Abstract: Under the guidance of Halliday’s systematic functional grammar (SFG) and on the basis of a self-built bilingual Business English corpus, this paper, combined with syntactic function, studies the translation strategies of OF prepositional phrases with the highest frequency in the corpus. Results show that, OF prepositional phrases possess different syntactic functions in Business English, among which the leading function is as post-modifier. Additionally, in order to obtain a high-quality and high-level translation text, OF prepositional phrases with different syntactic functions require different translation strategies, such as literal translation, omission, conversion and conventional translation.
