高古陶瓷通常是指明清以前的瓷器。碗类是陶瓷历史发展过程中最重要的器型，对其研究具有十分重要的意义。本文按照不同时期碗类的发展历史，梳理了碗类器型的历史演变过程；详细探讨了不同时期的主要器型及主要特征；碗类器型从陶器向瓷器的转变过程中呈现出了结构更复杂、难度更高、加工技术水平更高的器型发展特点，并伴随着装饰、纹饰技术和理念而发展。
