汉语成语英译的刚性柔性视角

Translation of Chinese Idioms in Perspective of Rigidity and Flexibility

摘要: 为了能完整地以英语形式呈现汉语成语的内涵，便于进修汉语的外国读者使用，给学习英语的学生带来启示，为我国成语英语翻译工作提供参考，本文就2010年上海交通大学出版社出版的《汉英成语词典》一书，抽取其中具有代表性的成语翻译从英汉语言的刚性柔性角度进行分析，指出其中汉语成语翻译过程中存在的问题，并就其提出思考和介绍刚柔性视角下的成语内容的英译，提出具体的翻译方法。并且对方法进行总结归纳，提出相应的翻译策略。

Abstract: In order to present the connotation of Chinese idioms in English, to benefit the study of Chinese idioms for foreign readers, to bring inspiration to English learners, and to provide reference for the translation of idioms in China, this paper analyzes the Chinese-English idiom Dictionary pub-lished by Shanghai Jiaotong University Press in 2010, and extracts the representative idiom translation from the angle of rigidity and flexibility between English and Chinese. This paper also points out the problems existing in the translation of Chinese idioms, puts forward some specific translation methods for the translation of idioms from the perspective of rigidity and flexible perspective, summarizes the methods, and presents related translation strategies.
