Abstract: A certain dose of radiation in all or part of the heart can cause pericardial disease, myocardial fi-brosis, coronary artery disease, and heart conduction system damage. Myocardial fibrosis is an important pathological process in the development of radiation-induced heart disease (RIHD). A number of studies have confirmed that miR-21 can accelerate the progression of fibrosis and ab-normal expression in fibrotic tissues. This article will summarize the mechanism of myocardial fi-brosis, path physiology and the relationship between miR-21 and myocardial fibrosis and provide a theoretical basis for the clinical treatment and prevention of radioactive heart damage.
