Abstract: Oxytocin is a type of neuropeptide that can be naturally secreted by human beings and mammals. Oxytocin can affect the scores of the individuals’ mind-reading tests, and may improve the accuracy of empathy selectively. Individuals’ empathy for members of the internal and external groups can also be affected by oxytocin. Besides, oxytocin can also enhance individuals’ empathy for others’ pain. And oxytocin can also act as a tranquilizer.
