基于COCA语料库的近义动词辨析——以Destroy，Damage和Ruin为例
COCA Corpus-Based Study of the Near-Synonymous Verbs—Taking “Destroy”, “Damage” and “Ruin” for Reference
摘要: 随着语料库语言学的兴起，语料库中的自然语言数据逐渐成为语言教学中的重要工具。本文将基于COCA语料库，探讨“damage”,“destroy”和“ruin”这三个近义动词的异同，对其在词频、文体、搭配和语义韵这四方面进行对比分析。目的是更加准确地区分这组近义动词，同时引起英语学习者对语料库的使用兴趣。
Abstract: With the rise of corpus linguistics, natural language data in the corpus have gradually become an important tool in language teaching. Based on COCA corpus, this paper tries to discuss the differ-ences among the three near-synonymous verbs “destroy”, “damage” and “ruin”, and makes a comparative analysis of them in word frequency, stylistics, collocation and semantic prosody. The purpose of this study is to discriminate these near-synonymous verbs and promote English learners’ interest in using corpus data.
