Study on Language Identity of Contemporary Ukrainian Citizens

摘要: 当代乌克兰是一个双语(乌克兰语与俄语)使用程度很高的国家。历史原因使得俄语成为当代乌克兰境内的通用语言，而自独立以来乌政府积极推行“乌克兰化”政策，增加乌克兰语在社会生活各领域的使用。研究表明，大多数乌克兰人支持自由发展俄语，但同时也希望政府促进乌克兰语的发展，因为乌克兰语不仅是国家的象征，也是乌克兰民族的固有属性。

Abstract: Contemporary Ukraine is a highly bilingual country (Ukrainian and Russian). Due to historical reasons, Russian has become the common language in contemporary Ukraine. Since indepen-dence, the Ukrainian government has actively promoted the policy of “Ukrainification” and in-creased the use of Ukrainian in various fields of social life. Studies have shown that most Ukrai-nians support the free development of Russian, but also want the government to promote the development of Ukrainian, which is not only a symbol of the state, but also an inherent part of the Ukrainian nation.
