A Preliminary Study of Yang-Qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine
Abstract:
Qi is the most basic substance that constitutes the human body. Among them, Yang-qi, which has the functions of warmth, excitement and promotion, is the basic substance of all human life activities and the power source of human life activities. The water is gasified to form Yang-qi, which is transported to the whole body through the physiological characteristics of the lungs facing hundreds of veins, thus warming the Yin liquid again and making it gasify to form Yang-qi, which starts from cycle to cycle. The function of Yang-qi and Yin-liquid is similar to the positive feedback function of modern medicine. The more Yang-qi is, the faster the effect of Yin-liquid gasification is. Of course, this is proposed without considering the deficiency of Yin-liquid. From the viewpoints of traditional Chinese medicine, such as water metabolism, bladder gasification, and the role of Yang-qi in human body, and combining with some simple physical basis, this paper preliminarily explores the author’s understanding and views on Yang-qi.
