Abstract: With the development of science and social progress, college professors’ mental health has re-ceived more and more attention. This article analyzes the cause of moral stress among college professors from the aspects of work system, research performance pressure and working envi-ronment, as well as the dual and unique characteristics of moral stress among college professors and its influence on mental health. The moral stress among college professors comes from the external environment and the characteristics of their own professional roles. The moral stress among college professors will lead to moral conflicts and non-ethical behaviors, leading to the decline of job satisfaction, emotional exhaustion and job burnout, and may also cause mental illness. Future research should further clarify the localization of moral stress and explore its impact mechanism on mental health.
