Abstract: As a main color of nature and human society, red color is core color that color psychology focused on. Psychological effect of red color depends on the context including both achievement and romantic. Many studies on the effects of red psychology in the context of achievement and relationship have been carried out at home and abroad. This article comprehensively reviews and combs the research on the red psychological effect under romantic context. The conclusion is that the relationship between red and attractive psychological significance is more prominent in the situation of men observing women, and in the case of women looking at men, the red-attractiveness psychological meaning link needs more empirical research. There are gender differences in the internal mechanism of the relationship between red and attractive psychological meaning. In the context of men’s observation of women, sexual acceptance and health perception are the intermediary, and in the context of women’s observation of men, social status and health perception are the intermediary. Finally, based on the review of the present situation of the past research, the future direction of research is anticipated.
