A Parameter-Based Approach to Evaluative Language in Customer Online Review Texts

摘要: 本研究由数据驱动，在评价理论和评价参数框架的指导下，对在线评论文本中的评价性语言进行研究，旨在建立一个评价框架，用于充分解释在线评论文本中的评价性表达。该框架包括四个参数：质量、满意度、推荐度和性价比。本研究中参数的真实性证明了所提出的评价框架是有效的，从而可以用来描述和分析在在特定语境下使用的评价语言。而这又反过来说明对评价的描述和理论化确实高度依赖于所考察的文本类型。该框架有助于商家进行市场调研，具有一定的商业价值。

Abstract: This study proposes a data-driven, parameter-based and Appraisal theory informed framework to investigate the evaluative language used in customer online review texts. The study is designed to develop a framework of evaluation that can accurately and adequately illustrate evaluative ex-pressions in customer online review texts. The framework comprises four parameters: Quality, Satisfactoriness, Recommendability and Worthiness. The authenticity of these parameters proves the validity of the framework and thus can be used to describe and analyze evaluative language used in this particular context. This in turn indicates that the description and theorizing of evalua-tion are indeed highly dependent on the text type that is under investigation. This framework, on the other hand, can facilitate market research, which has further commercial value.
