Abstract: In the social interaction situation, people’s cooperative behavior is the focus of attention in vari-ous research fields. As an effective signal to convey the intention and belief of others, how emo-tional expression affects people’s cooperative decision-making has received more and more at-tention. This paper summarized the influence of different forms of emotional expression and different nature of emotional expression on cooperative decision-making in social dilemma, ultimatum task and trust game. The results showed that facial expressions were more commonly used in these studies. The study should consider the discrete dimensions of emotional expression rather than the titer dimensions, and consider the influence of the interaction between emotional expression and specific context on cooperative decision-making. The cognitive mechanism of emotional expression affecting cooperation can be explained from the perspectives of emotional credibility theory, the Emotion as Social Information (EASI) model and reverse appraisal theory. In the future, we should study the relationship between variables from many angles, and continue to enrich the research of cognitive mechanism and brain mechanism.
