Abstract: Hyperuricemia and gout were previously thought to be metabolic rheumatism caused by abnormal purine metabolism in the body. In 2002, Enomoto et al. described the first renal urate transporter URAT1. Since then, more and more urate transporters have been characterized. Hyperuricemia is no longer a metabolic disease, but a “transport disease”. This review reviews the domestic and foreign research literature related to HUA and urate transporter in recent years, and summarizes the relationship between urate transporter and HUA disease.
