A Study of Love Drawings in Different States of Love and Marriage from the Perspective of Graphic Technology
Abstract: At present, there are few studies focusing on the differences between young people’s depictions of real love and ideal love, as well as the similarities and differences of young people’s love patterns under different emotional states. There are also few studies using drawing techniques (mostly using questionnaires) to explore the psychology of love. This study used graphic techniques to explore the love pictorial representation of young people in different marital and love states. A total of 228 people aged 20~39 were selected from 10 cities in China through the purpose sampling. The actual love and ideal love of the subjects were understood through the drawings and the drawing reflection questions, and the drawing works were coded and analyzed. The results showed that: Different relationship state of the individual, whether it’s singles, the lover, married or divorced/widowed, the drawing features of real love and the ideal love are significant differences, such as lines, screen layout, color, character number, richness, depicting scenes, etc., emotional motivation, interactivity and warmth are the most different indicators; individuals in different marriage and love situations have significant differences in the following drawing coding in the real painting: drawing layout, scene, emotional positivity, warmth and interactivity. In an ideal painting, there are significant differences in horizontal layout, line curvature, tonal, number of figures, and warmth.
