你选择“APP”还是“应用程序”？外语词缩略语与中文译名的博弈

“APP” or “Application”? The Game between Foreign Words and Chinese Translation

摘要: 为了更好地规范外来词的译写和使用，我国在2012年成立外语中文译写规范部际联席会议。截至目前，这一机构已经发布了十一批《推荐使用外语词中文译名表》。通过观察，绝大多数的外语词缩略语都已经被其中文译名所替代使用，但部分外语词的缩略形式在实际使用中还占有一席之地，甚至占据主要地位。本文选取其中四组外来词的称名为例，探究其在民众中的实际使用情况，以期为外语中文译写工作提供一些建设性的思考。

Abstract: In order to better regulate the translation and use of loanwords, China established the In-ter-ministerial Joint Conference on Translation Standards of Foreign Words in 2012. Up to now, the agency has released eleven batches of The Recommended Chinese Translations for Foreign Language Words. Through observation, the vast majority of abbreviations of foreign words have been replaced by their Chinese translated names, but some abbreviations of foreign words still occupy a place or even a dominant position in the actual use. This paper selected four groups of loanwords as examples to explore their actual use in the public, so as to provide some constructive thoughts for the Chinese translation norms of foreign words.
