“时间墙”模式对中国付费墙发展的启示
Enlightenment of “Time Wall” Model on the Development of Pay Wall in China

2019年德国媒体集团Madsack首次推出了“时间墙”付费模式。所谓的“时间墙”,就是先设置一个固定的时间段,在设置的时间段内新闻媒体机构发布的在线内容对所有用户免费开放,在规定的时间段过去之后,再仅限订阅者阅读,或者是在这个时间段内先向订阅者开放,规定的时间段过去之后,再向所有用户免费开放。“时间墙”模式具有尊重用户阅读体验、利于社交共享、培养潜在的订阅者等优势。这对于目前国内付费墙的发展有一定的启示作用。
Abstract:
In 2019, the German media group Madsack first launched the “time wall” payment model. The so-called “time wall” is to first set a fixed time period. During the set time period, the online content published by news media organizations is free and open to all users. After the specified time period has passed, only sub-scribers can read it. Or it can be opened to subscribers first during this time period, and then open to all users for free after the specified time period has passed. The “time wall” model has the ad-vantages of respecting users’ reading experience, facilitating social sharing, and cultivating poten-tial subscribers. This has certain enlightenment for the current development of domestic pay wall.
