Abstract: Birth deficit and population aging have become problems faced by the world in the 21st century. How to improve the willingness of citizens to have children, alleviate potential population prob-lems and other social problems has become a top priority. This study used a questionnaire me-thod to investigate the mediating role of life history strategies between subjective socioeco-nomic status and fertility willingness. The results show that: 1) Subjective socioeconomic status has a negative impact on fertility willingness. 2) The indirect effect of life history strategies on the relationship between subjective socioeconomic status and fertility willingness was signifi-cant.
