Abstract: Fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) is a phosphate promoting hormone synthesized by osteoblasts and osteoblasts. It mainly plays the functions of regulating phosphate metabolism, vitamin D metabolism, parathyroid hormone production, glucose and lipid metabolism. Cognitive function is a process in which the human brain receives external information, processes it and transforms it into internal psychological activities, so as to obtain knowledge or apply knowledge. It includes memory, language, visual space, execution, calculation, understanding and judgment. Cognitive impairment is the impairment of one or more of the above cognitive functions, including memory impairment, aphasia, apraxia, agnosia, visuospatial disorder, executive dysfunction, computational impairment, and even dementia, which seriously affects the individual’s daily or social ability. FGF23 is closely related to the occurrence of cognitive impairment. In-depth study of the relationship between FGF23 and cognitive function is of great significance for its prognosis.
