鸠摩罗什的翻译思想在译场中的构建
The Construction of Kumarajiva’s Translation Thought in the Translation Field
摘要: 鸠摩罗什是佛经汉译史上著名的翻译家,他在长安建立翻译领域,创新翻译策略,提出一系列翻译理念,开创了佛经汉译的新纪元。鸠摩罗什主持译场长达十余年,创新了边译边讲、中外同译的官方译场合作模式,并在译场中创造性地提出了不可译、文质兼顾和意译的翻译思想。本文以鸠摩罗什的译场为主线,纵向分析其翻译思想的产生与发展。通过阐述鸠摩罗什之前的中原佛教和佛经翻译情况,分析译场产生的前提、背景和原因。继而探讨鸠摩罗什在译场中的翻译思想,为以后的翻译研究提供思路。进而得出结论:鸠摩罗什的翻译思想随着译场翻译活动的深入而不断发展,译场对其翻译思想有重要的构建意义和价值。
Abstract:
Kumarajiva is a famous translator in the history of Buddhist scriptures Chinese translation. He established a translation field in Chang’an, innovated translation strategies, put forward a series of translation ideas, and created a new era of Buddhist scriptures Chinese translation. Kumarajiva has presided over the translation field for more than ten years. Meanwhile he innovated the official translation field cooperation mode of simultaneous translation and co-translation, and creatively put forward the translation ideas of untranslatability, quality-conscious and free translation in the translation field. This paper takes Kumarajiva’s translation field as the main line, and longitudinally analyzes the emergence and development of his translation thought. By introducing the translation of Central Plains Buddhism and Buddhist scriptures before Kumarajiva, analyze the premise, background and the reasons for the establishment of the translation field. Then it discusses Kumarajiva’s translation ideas in the translation field, and provides an idea for future translation studies. Therefore, it is concluded that Kumarajiva’s translation thought develops continuously with the deepening of translation activities in the translation field, and the translation field has important construction significance and value for his translation thought.
