“Get Ready for School”—A Review of Finnish Transition from Kindergarten to Primary School Research and Implications
Abstract: With the issuance of the Ministry of Education’s “Guidance on Promoting the Scientific Interface between Kindergarten and Primary School” in March 2021, the EYFS has once again become a hot topic in education. Finland is a model for international EYFS efforts, and there are a number of lessons to be learned from the research on EYFS that focuses on the educational goal of “readiness for school”. This paper focuses on the results and methods of research on EYFS in Finland in terms of children, parents, and schools, which will help to enrich the research subjects and variables of EYFS in China, increase the diversity of theoretical perspectives, and clarify the research directions, so as to further guide and consolidate the overall system of EYFS.
