The Influence of Parents’ Self-Esteem on Adolescents’ Physical and Mental Development: A Literature Review

摘要: 家庭对青少年的发展起着不可替代的作用，父母作为家庭系统中的重要组成部分，会对孩子的身心发展产生直接而持久的影响。虽然已有大量的研究考察了父母教养方式、亲子关系与青少年心理健康水平之间的关系，但是国内关于父母自尊这一特质本身对青少年发展影响的研究较少。本文梳理了父母自尊水平对青少年心理、身体发展的不同影响，并总结了父母自尊对青少年发展产生影响的机制，为未来的研究提出了进一步设想。
Abstract: Family plays an irreplaceable role in the development of teenagers. As an important part of the family system, parents have a direct and lasting impact on children’s physical and mental devel-opment. Although a large number of studies have investigated the relationship between parental rearing style, parent-child relationship and adolescents’ mental health level, there are few studies about the impact of parental self-esteem itself on adolescents’ development in China. This paper sorts out the effects of parental self-esteem on adolescents’ psychological and physical development, summarizes the mechanism of parents’ self-esteem on adolescents’ development, and puts forward prospects for future research.
