非洲媒体涉华新冠疫情新闻标题的及物性分析

A Transitivity Analysis of China Related News Headlines on COVID-19 Pandemic in African Mainstream Media

摘要: 基于系统功能语言学中的及物性系统，对新冠疫情期间非洲主流媒体涉华新闻标题进行分析。研究发现，新闻标题对及物性过程及参与者进行有效配置体现报道的客观性。其中物质过程占主导地位，其次为言语过程、心理过程和关系过程。这些过程主要由非洲和中国相关参与者担任了施事者、话语源、感知者和载体，被赋予较强的能动性，充分肯定双方在抗疫中的积极行动。在内容上，非洲媒体对涉华疫情总体认知是客观正面的，塑造了一个慷慨相助、高度负责的大国形象，只有少部分标题呈现出一定意识形态偏见，臆造中国有种族歧视和政治意图的不实观点。

Abstract: This paper analyzes the headlines of China related news reports in African mainstream media during the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of transitivity system within the framework of systemic functional linguistics. The results show that the employment of transitivity process and participants configuration are effective in the headlines, reflecting the objectivity of the reports. Among the transitivity processes, material process is dominant followed by verbal process, mental process and relational process. Africa and China related participants are found to mainly play the role of Actor, Sayer, Senser, Carrier and so on. The initiative taken by both sides reveals media’s affirmative attitude towards their positive actions in the fight against the pandemic. In terms of content, the overall perception of African media of China related pandemic is objective and positive, constructing the image of a generous and highly responsible country. Only a few headlines show certain ideological biases and fabricate the racial discrimination and political intentions of China.
