“Beauty of Abstract” and “Beauty of Messy”: The Influence of Complexity and Order on Aesthetic Preference of Abstract Art
Abstract: What are the objective and subjective factors that affect aesthetics? Philosophers and scientists have been trying to solve this complex puzzle for centuries. Aesthetic psychology has accumulated a large number of scientific research and discussion, and strives to explore the unified aesthetic standard and aesthetic psychological mechanism for all human beings. Order, complexity, and the balance between order and complexity have long been cited as factors influencing aesthetic preferences for a long time. However, different researchers have come to different conclusions about the literature on this topic. Based on the overall integration of the western aesthetic psychology, this article analyses various aesthetic factors and focuses on the complexity and order of aesthetic, especially aesthetics of abstract art, which represents the modern art and individual difference to provide prospect in the direction of research for the development of domestic research on aesthetic psychology in future.
