The Characteristics of Adolescent-to-Parent Violence and Its Family Influence Factors
Abstract: In recent years, cases of juvenile abuse, wounding and killing of relatives have occurred from time to time. Adolescent-to-Parent Violence (APV) has begun to enter the public’s field of vision, causing social anxiety and concern. In China, the violence of teenage children against their parents is considered to be a “new” type of domestic violence. In fact, this kind of violence has always existed in the family, but because of the particularity of the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim, the victims of violence rarely seek help from the outside world, which makes this kind of domestic violence quite hidden. Therefore, there is a lack of relevant research on adolescent violence against parents in China. The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics and influencing factors of Adolescent-to-Parent Violence from the perspective of the family, and the purpose is to make the “new” type of domestic violence of juvenile domestic violence parents valued by the family and society.
