Abstract: The relationship between tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), inflammatory response and malignancy in tumor microenvironment (TME) is becoming more and more obvious. TAMs can secrete cytokines, growth factors and complex inflammatory substrates, which play an important role in tumor initiation, growth, invasion and metastasis. It will be a promising direction for TAMs to treat breast cancer with targeted drugs. This article reviews the research progress of immune escape, invasion and metastasis of breast cancer, as well as the influence of drug resistance of breast cancer, based on the types and biological characteristics of TAMs, aiming to provide new ideas and reference for personalized treatment of breast cancer and improve the quality of life.
