The Effect of Repeating a Subliminal Stimulus on Its Level of Conscious Perception
Abstract: There is growing evidence that in the absence of consciousness, information can also be stored and influence behavioral responses. From the dichotomy to the gradual view, the generation of consciousness and its difference and connection with the unconscious still need further exploration and verification. Studying the process of change in the level of consciousness can help answer this question. Most theories suggest that repetition of subliminal stimuli can increase the level of conscious perception, but research results have been debated. The reasons for the controversy may be related to the timing of the stimulus presented in the experiment, the measurement method, and the stimulus material. The impact of these factors should be further explored in the future.
