Abstract: Plato is known as the source of the Ancient Greek philosophy. Together with Socrates and his Aris-totle, he is known as the “three wise men of ancient Greece”. His masterpiece, The Republic, con-tains a great deal of philosophical wisdom, the idea of equality between men and women is of great practical significance for today’s society to cultivate the sense of equality, cultivate new productive forces and promote equality in employment between men and women. To accurately grasp the basic position of establishing the concept of equality under the historical background of Plato, ana-lyze the definition of the concept of equality from different angles of Plato, and perspective the gender cultural phenomenon in today’s society, can effectively explore the value of female talents and give play to the contemporary value of the concept of equality.
